Advik’s munja, the thread ceremony (also called upanayan or munj), was held at Nakshatra Palace in Shivapur, just outside Pune. His family wanted every part of the day covered, from the first rituals to the last family portrait. They chose our full setup: photography, videography, a cinematic film, and drone coverage.
The rituals
A munja is full of small moments that pass quickly: the priest’s instructions, the family gathered close, and the boy taking in everything happening around him. We stayed close to the rituals without getting in the way, so the family could stay in the moment while we made sure nothing was missed.

Some of our favourite frames from the day are the quiet ones: Advik with his parents, the hugs and smiles between rituals, and grandparents watching from the front row.
Same-day edit and easy photo delivery
The family also opted for a same-day edit, a short film cut and shown on the day itself, so guests saw the ceremony again before they left. We also used face-recognition photo delivery. Guests scan their face and get only the photos they appear in, with no scrolling through hundreds of images.
The team behind the day
We covered Advik’s munja with a team of six: photographers, videographers, a cinematic filmmaker and a drone operator. After the event, Advik’s family spent 30–40 minutes talking with our team about the day and the experience. It’s the kind of conversation that makes our work worth it.
