Why birthday photos matter more than you think
Children change so fast that every birthday is a different child. The one-year-old who smashed the cake becomes the five-year-old who blows out the candles on the first try, and then suddenly a teenager who would rather not be photographed at all. Phone photos catch pieces of the day, but someone is always missing from them, usually the parents.
A birthday photographer lets you actually enjoy the party. We capture the aukshan, the cake cutting, grandparents’ blessings, cousins running around and all the small, unplanned moments, so you can stay with your family instead of behind a phone.
First birthdays, kids’ parties and milestone birthdays
A first birthday is one of the biggest celebrations in most Pune families, and we treat it that way, from the decor and theme to the family portraits. We also photograph kids’ birthday parties at home, in society clubhouses, banquet halls and play areas, as well as milestone birthdays like a parent’s 50th or grandparents’ 60th and 75th (shashtyabdi and amrut mahotsav).
Shashtyabdi purti, amrut mahotsav and milestone birthdays
Some birthdays are celebrations of a whole life. A parent’s 60th birthday (shashtyabdi purti), the 75th (amrut mahotsav) or sahasrachandra darshan bring the entire family together, often three or four generations in one room. These are the photos families treasure most, years later.
We photograph the full day: the puja and rituals, the aukshan, blessings from elders, the felicitation, and the family portraits with children, grandchildren and relatives. We make sure no family member is missed, and we plan the group photos in advance so nobody is waiting around.
